The R.A. Long Alumni Association web site is currently being upgraded. Don't mind the unusual, non-Lumberjack-related pictures in the masthead; they are placeholders. Please bear with us while the process is completed. Thank you.

R.A. Long High School is a great school full of amazing graduates, students, teachers, and staff. With R.A. Long alumnus Rich Reeves (’86) taking over as principal with the 2009-2010 academic year, we expect more great things to come out of the school.

Welcome

Welcome!

The R. A. Long High School Alumni Association began in 2002 with just a few people gathering to answer the question "Wouldn't it be nice to form an alumni association to maintain contact amongst the generations of R. A. Long students and to benefit the school and current students in some way?" This small group researched, planned, and registered as a non-profit corporation in the State of Washington. The Association is also a non-profit organization under the IRS 501(c)(3).

Interior Painting Underway

The interior of R.A. Long High School is being painted. We're told that the school has not been painted since the renovation of '83-'84. More than 25 years! Principal Reeves and other volunteers, including students, are taking on the task, often working at night. Even with donated labor and discounted materials, the project is still costly. Given severely constrained budgets, the Longview School District cannot fund painting the interior. The Association and several other donors have provided the funding for this project.
